Jake Guller, CFP®

Jake grew up in Lafayette Hill, PA, as the oldest of four siblings, and has always embraced leadership and learning. A proud graduate of La Salle College High School and Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, he went on to earn his BBA from Temple University, where he completed the CFP Board registered Financial Planning Program. Jake has now met all the requirements to be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner.

Jake was drawn to RTD because of its people’s first mission. He believes that at its core, financial planning is about helping others, and that the most meaningful work happens when clients feel empowered to make decisions based on what they value, not just what they can afford. For Jake, financial planning is more about lifestyle than metrics, and he values how RTD has pioneered that philosophy and continues to evolve it with intention and care.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys playing guitar and bass—interests that reflect his creative side and his love for teaching and connecting with others.

Getting to know Jake

What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?

wouldn’t call it work — it’s a passionAnd it’s not a workplace — it’s a people. In a short timeI’ve grown both professionally as a financial planner and personally as part of a team that truly cares forThere’s nothing more rewarding than helping clients reach a point where financial decisions become life decisions—driven by preference. I’m constantly inspired by my colleagues, who challenge me to grow and empower me to contribute in meaningful ways beyond my job description.

What makes you good at what you do?

I’ve always loved helping others grow—whether it was teaching kids to swim or showing someone how to play a song on guitar. That same passion drives my work at RTD. I aim to empower clients to feel confident and in control of their financial lives, just like those moments when someone realizes, “I can do this.” I bring patience, empathy, and a teacher’s mindset to every client relationship.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Try new things. Every experience offers something to learn, and you’ll never know if you like something unless you truly explore it. I was hesitant to pursue my second major in financial planning and pick up a second instrument—the bass—at first, but they have led to some of my most rewarding and memorable life experiences.

What are your passions outside of work?

I’ve been playing guitar since I was eight and picked up electric bass in high school. I love music – learning new songs, playing with bands, attending concerts, etc.
