The job description encompasses the range of the Associate Retirement Plan Consultant role at RTD. This is a consulting position, focused on developing expertise and confidence. Preparation and active participation in client meetings and participant education sessions are essential. Coordination with recordkeeper, TPA and other strategic partners is required to streamline procedures and resolve outstanding items. Oversight and implementation of participant education and engagement campaigns is required. Candidates must be able to travel for firm and client meetings, when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • B.S. or B.A. degree from accredited four-year university.
  • Preferred 4+ Years of experience in retirement plan industry, investment management, and/or customer service.
  • Maintain or progress towards professional designations; AIF®, QKA/QPA
  • Regulatory Compliance & Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ERISA regulations, Internal Revenue Code (IRC) requirements, and tax laws related to retirement plans.
  • Plan Administration & Design: Proficiency in managing defined contribution (DC) and defined benefit (DB) plans, including eligibility, vesting, contribution limitations and
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Ability to analyze plan performance, investment options, and fee benchmarking.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with recordkeeping and administration software, Fi360/Broadridge tools and Fiduciary Decisions Inc. benchmarking.
  • Fiduciary Management: Implementing risk management strategies and ensuring compliance with fiduciary duties.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Utilizing Microsoft Excel and other tools to manage participant data, education, and audit documentation.
  • Strong intrapersonal skills and presence in client meetings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain investment, compensation, and retirement packages to employees in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive outreach and engagement with clients, strategic partners and internal responsibility to ensure plans are compliance, participants are well informed and organizational goals and expectations are met efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft, SharePoint, Teams, Power Point, Calendly, and Entrepreneur Operating System (EOS) preferred
  • Genuinely caring and empathetic by nature.
  • Experience and comfort with working in a supporting role as part of a team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Point person for resolving conflicts that may arise with Plan Sponsor and Participant inquiries and keeping client informed when necessary.
  • Manage and implement onboarding and conversion processes.
  • Participate in Plan Fiduciary meetings; prepare agendas with team input.
  • Oversee investment fund changes, participant notices and other department projects.
  • Prepare and distribute quarterly/annual client deliverables.
  • Participate in development and delivery of participant education campaigns, including attendance at on-site and virtual meetings.
  • Attend and participate in participant onboarding, conversion and enrollment meetings.
  • Stay abreast of changes in recordkeeper procedures and deliverables and communicate same to team and clients.
  • Serve as peer-resource and provide constructive feedback to the team.
  • Assist team with ad hoc research projects as needed.
  • Assist with other ERP team members’ responsibilities if/when they are out of the office.
  • Committed team player who supports the firm’s goals and culture, taking initiative and embracing responsibilities at all levels.

For consideration of the position of Associate Retirement Plan Consultant, in addition to the above, this position is expected to:

  • Properly manage individually assigned client alerts and actions within CRM program, updating with notes and actions, etc.
  • Setup and launch workflows and service monitors.
  • Input actions resulting from client meetings into CRM and take responsibility for follow-up.
  • Support lead advisor by preparing for and taking notes during client meetings.
  • Support lead advisor by coordinating meeting preparation and meeting follow ups.
  • Take ownership of operational client administration.
  • Efficiently manage calendar and time constraints.
  • Proactively anticipating and resolving plan administration issues to ease client burdens.
  • Effectively communicate in client & participant meetings.
