Getting to know Peyton

What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?

Each face is a familiar one, and it leads to effective collaboration between and within departments.  Everyone is extremely kind and personable, too, which is something I greatly value.

What makes you good at what you do?

Persistence and curiosity. The answer is not always right in front of your face.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

I did not receive this advice personally, but a strength coach from the Georgia Tech football team once famously asked his players, “Are you willing to sprint when the distance is unknown?”. I understood this as meaning that you need to identify more with the process than the destination. The process is who you are. It is where you build character and discipline.  The destination is just a lagging indicator for how dedicated you were to the process.

What do you love the most about working in investments?

What I love most about working in investments is the direct impact that we have on the financial success of our clients. They entrust us with their financial future, and we deliver for them. It is something I take tremendous pride in every single day.

What are your passions outside of work?

I love to golf, play basketball, lift weights, and attend country concerts with my friends. Relationships are extremely important to me, so I am lucky that my passions are social.

What’s the most exciting vacation you’ve taken?

I would say my trip to Italy was by far the most exciting. Visiting Cities like Rome, Florence, and Venice were eye opening. Everything in the United States feels like it was built yesterday, while architecture in Italy reminds you that their culture has been around for thousands of years. The Food was unbelievable as well! If you thought pizza and ice cream couldn’t get better in the United States, think again! It does.
