Luca is a Financial Planning Analyst at RTD Financial, passionate about fostering a more client-centered approach to financial services while continuing to grow within the profession.
Luca is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech, where he discovered his interest in financial planning through their CFP® Board-Registered Program. As a member of Virginia Tech’s Financial Planning Association chapter, Luca deepened his commitment to the profession and built meaningful connections within the planning community.
Having spent most of his life in the Philadelphia suburbs, Luca is a devoted Philly sports fan. Outside of work, he enjoys running, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family. He’s also recently taken up the guitar and enjoys the challenge of learning something new.
Getting to know Luca
What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?
On my first day in the office, I was struck by how humble and welcoming everyone was. I really enjoy just how collaborative and close-knit the entire team is. No matter who you talk to, they are on your side and want to see you succeed. There’s a genuine sense of community here that makes RTD feel like a family.
What makes you good at what you do?
I’m naturally curious and detail-oriented, so I’m always eager to learn and committed to doing things the right way. When I set a goal, I put in the work to give myself the best chance of achieving it. I also truly enjoy connecting with people on a deep level, which is what drew me to a profession where the ability to connect with and understand clients is essential.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
A professor of mine once told me that curiosity is essential to a happy and successful life. It’s simple but stuck with me and still rings true.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was younger, I always wanted to be a sports broadcaster. I’d sit and watch basketball games with my dad, mute the TV, and do the play-by-play as if I were calling the game from the broadcast booth. He loved it and was convinced that’s what I’d end up doing one day.
What are your passions outside of work?
Outside of the office I enjoy running, playing basketball, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. I recently took up the guitar, and it has quickly become a big part of my life. I try to pick it up and play once a day, whether that be for five minutes or an hour. While I’m still a beginner, the learning process has taught me valuable lessons about having patience with myself and the importance of discipline and practice. I also enjoy listening to and discovering new music, and I recently began collecting vinyl records, which has been a fun way to strengthen my appreciation for music.
