After transferring to Virginia Tech, Abby didn’t know which direction to go in. She pursued biology, and then mathematics, but couldn’t seem to find the right fit. In considering her interests, Abby recognized she enjoyed working with numbers and was always motivated to help others. With the help of a close advisor, she found her way to financial planning!
Abby graduated from Virginia Tech with her bachelor’s degree in Finance under the CFP® education track in December 2021. She is extremely grateful for the journey and experiences that lead her to where she is today, at RTD Financial. She is eager to aid clients in reaching financial independence, by providing valuable insight and guidance.
In her free time, Abby enjoys biking, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her two dogs, Beau and Bayla, her cat, Ozzy, and her long-term boyfriend, Matt.
Abby will be serving as a Financial Planning Analyst to a variety of RTD clients and is looking forward to what is to come.

What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?
The RTD team! When I started as a virtual intern in December 2020, the team was extremely inclusive and welcoming to me, even though we hadn’t had the opportunity to meet in person. As a recent graduate, I have a lot to learn, but I know my colleagues are willing and wanting to help. Being supported by an empathetic and knowledgeable team will help me flourish in the financial planning profession, ultimately to better serve our clients!
What makes you good at what you do?
Above all else, I have a strong willingness to learn and am very adaptable.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Take one step at a time!
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?
Graduating college is number one on my list. I could add a couple of hikes that I never thought I would see the top of, too!
