Aidan McKeon is a Financial Planning Analyst at RTD Financial. While he originally attended Virginia Tech for architecture, he quickly learned that he missed the aspect of helping people. After being introduced to financial planning, he changed majors and found his fit. Throughout the rest of his college experience, he taught personal finance at a local high school through the university and learned how to serve clients to the fullest of his ability through various projects and opportunities.

He graduated from Virginia Tech in May of 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance under the CFP® education track. He is excited to assist clients in reaching their financial goals through any insights and problem solving he can provide.

In his free time, Aidan enjoys running, biking, reading, and cooking as well as spending as much time as possible with his family and close friends.

Getting to know Aidan

What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?

The environment that is fostered by the professionals that work here is something that I have never experienced before. There is such a friendly, helpful atmosphere that comes from the desire to serve clients and the community in the best way possible that I am extremely fortunate to be a part of.

What makes you good at what you do?

My love for helping people is what makes me good at what I do. Listening to each individual’s goals and concerns helps drive me to work towards finding the best solution for their objectives.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Try something new every single day!

What book has made the biggest impact on you and why?

“Unreasonable Hospitality” by Will Guidara made the largest impact on me. While it is centered around the restaurant business, the book focuses on how you can elevate the experience of individuals to something truly unforgettable by taking your level of service to a state many would consider unreasonable. I was fortunate enough to experience this once myself and this book showed me how to provide it for others.
