Gavin Maurer is an Associate Financial Planner at RTD Financial. Gavin’s journey into financial planning started with a desire to use his creative and analytical thinking skills to make a tangible difference in others’ lives. These skills have developed into a passion for tax planning and retirement income planning to meet clients’ short, medium, and long-term goals.

At Temple, Gavin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration by completing the requirements for both the CFP® Board registered Financial Planning Program and the Corporate Finance major. Gavin has since completed all requirements for CFP® certification and enjoys sharing all he has learned to help clients achieve their financial goals! Gavin is a member of the RTD Tax Planning committee and works with his teammates to help refine the firm’s tax planning resources.

Getting to know Gavin
What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?
The people! Everyone I work with are both top-notch professionals and outstanding human beings who care about each other and their clients. At RTD, I know the client’s interests come first no matter what.
What makes you good at what you do?
My desire to help people and build relationships. I worked as a caddie and found satisfaction in building relationships with the members while helping them with their game. This is what drove me to work at such a client-centered firm like RTD.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
My ice hockey coach growing up always preached accountability. He would say that everyone is going to make mistakes, but the important part is owning it and learning from the experience.
What’s the most exciting vacation you’ve taken?
In 2021, I chose to pursue a lifelong dream of thru hiking the Appalachian Trail in lieu of attending Temple virtually. It was one of the best times of my life where I met amazing people, experienced beautiful scenery, and I learned so much about myself.
