Getting to know Kurt
What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?
The people! The RTD Financial community culture values teamwork and cooperation. From clients to coworkers, it is a pleasure to collaborate with everyone.
What makes you good at what you do?
Realizing the why is vital for understanding intentions. Anyone can follow a list step by step, but it takes knowledge to interpret motivations. I believe this skill is necessary to best help clients by offering suggestions and insight they might not have otherwise considered.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“People won’t always remember the words you said, but they will always remember how it made them feel.” It helps me keep in mind that the way something is being communicated can be much more important than the words themselves.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up, I was told I was good at numbers and because of that, I should be an accountant. It even was my initial focus at college. I ended up swapping majors when I discovered I was more passionate about finance.
What’s the most exciting vacation you’ve taken?
Iceland! The island has so much natural beauty and the scenery there is truly unique and breathtaking. I would recommend the trip to anyone looking for a place to get away.
