Michelle King is the Director of Client Services. She began her career with RTD in 1996 as the Office Manager. Today, Michelle dedicates her time to maintaining the firm’s relationships with Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade, training Client Service Associates, and servicing clients. Michelle is also the Chairwoman of RTD’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee.
Michelle is an alumnus of Charles Schwab’s Technology Operations Service Board and TD Ameritrade’s Client Experience Board. The Board consists of independent investment advisors that advise Charles Schwab and TD on issues relevant to the independent advisor and their experience with their service, technology and products.
Michelle earned her designation of Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP™) through the College for Financial Planning. She also earned the designation of Certified Administrative Professional with a specialty in Office Management (CAP-OM®) through the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
Ms. King resides in Montgomery County and is a proud mother of three children, three granddaughters and one grandson.

I love RTD’s philosophy and the pride and care each individual demonstrates when servicing our clients.
What makes you good at what you do?
I am very service driven and place a lot of pride in servicing our clients. I make sure no client walks away with unanswered questions or concerns.
What’s the best piece of advice you received?
To remember clients come first and to always listen and understand their needs and concerns.
What’s the most exciting vacation you’ve taken?
My most exciting vacation I have taken is when I took my children on a cruise. The excitement in their eyes when they saw how large the ship was and that it was like living on land as oppose to floating on water. They could not believe it!
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a Pediatrician.
