Getting to know Maureen

What do you enjoy most about working at RTD?

The people!  I am constantly amazed by the professionalism, talent, and energy of our staff at every level of the organization.  The respect and concern everyone has for each other is evident in all they do, as well as in the care and concern shown for our clients.  It is an honor to work with this group of people.  And they make me laugh almost every single day!

What makes you good at what you do?

Hard work and the willingness to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. I have also had the good fortune to work with some truly talented and brilliant people throughout my career.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

I had an adjunct professor at St Joe’s who had a brilliant career at RCA. He talked about how important was for our careers that we step up when asked to be the “go to” person. That resonated with me then and continues to do so now.

What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?

As the Chairperson of the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) 2007 National Championships, I led a team of hundreds of volunteers, working for 18 months, to bring over 3,000 rowers and 10,000 spectators to the Cooper River for a three-day regatta,  generating millions of dollars of revenue for local businesses.  It almost killed me, but it was an experience of a lifetime!
