Jadah Riley is an Associate Financial Planner who enjoys helping clients build their brightest financial futures, while achieving meaningful life goals! She enjoys helping families prepare to leave a legacy for future generations, while helping the next generation create a solid financial foundation.
Jadah earned her BA in Communication & Information and a BA in English from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. She completed the Financial Planning Certification Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University and is currently preparing to take the CFP® exam.
While in college, Jadah was motivated to learn all she could about responsibly managing her finances. She realized that while first-year students were required to participate in career development courses to transition students into adulthood, there were no required courses on managing personal finances. Given students had unlimited access to credit, student loans and other unsecured debts, the lack of financial education felt alarming.
Jadah began her career in the financial services industry working in insurance where she was an active member of the Young Professional’s Organization. They created experiences for students that promoted early financial literacy. The group collaborated with Junior Achievement in the organization’s Biztown, a simulated town where students independently managed a career and their finances. She also helped design a program for students to visit the home office to learn about various financial services career paths.
Later, she worked as a reporter for a financial publication creating articles and researching topics of interest for financial advisors. Prior to joining the team at RTD, Jadah worked in asset management, serving multi-generational client families and supporting all functions of the investment management process. Today, Jadah enjoys helping clients navigate the complexities of their finances using easy to understand concepts.
In her spare time, Jadah enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and trying new cuisines. She is a productivity enthusiast and enjoys finding new and innovative ways to get organized.
Getting to know Jadah
What makes you good at what you do?
I believe being an active and engaged listener makes me good at what I do. When clients communicate their financial goals, they are often sharing their life goals, their fears and what means most to them. Being a great listener allows you to effectively address the needs of the client holistically—and that’s what it’s all about!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Focus on the daily habit and not the goal. Accomplishing a goal tends to be the result of a repeated daily habit. Instead of focusing solely on achieving the larger goals that I have, I focus on winning the day. Small wins always snowball into big wins!
What are your passions outside of work?
I am passionate about expanding access to financial planning services and furthering the reach of the financial planning profession. I believe everyone should have access to comprehensive financial planning, and I am always looking for new ways to support and amplify the voices of those leading these initiatives.
